Country ClubLocated just east of Shaker Square, on the south side of Courtland Boulevard in the heart of historic Shaker Heights is Shaker Heights Country Club - a premier full-service, family-oriented private club.
Surrounding the beautiful clubhouse is a 18-hole course designed by the legendary Donald Ross; with world class operations to ensure you have an unforgettable experience. Shaker's recreational amenities offer you outdoor play at its finest! Our tennis facility includes four Har-Tru courts while the paddle tennis facility includes two lit and heated courts. A state-of-the-art fitness center offers cardio machines, plus a variety of free weights.
In addition to the 6-lane, 25-meter pool with diving board, and infant pool; our recently added outdoor bar is the perfect location to grab a drink or enjoy a quick bite to eat. The club offers a variety of dining options and environments. Whether visiting Shaker with family and friends or with business associates, dining is central to an enjoyable experience. Our Executive Chef and his team will oversee all your culinary desires.

Our members enjoy a year round calendar of events and activities for the whole family; including a new pool complex, championship-level Donald Ross designed golf course, indoor golf simulator, four har-tru tennis courts, two paddle tennis courts, a fitness facility, and more! We offer plenty of venue options for dining in our large Clubhouse and private dining spaces that can host up to 400 people.
Our club is uniquely surrounded by historic Shaker Heights neighborhoods that were built around the Club over 100 years ago. Our members that live nearby can easily walk or ride bikes to the club making membership here convenient and perfect for families.
In 1913 the club was born out of a split in the membership of the exclusive Euclid Golf Club, which was located on property owned by John D. Rockefeller at the top of Cedar Hill. Euclid members, J.B. Zerbe and Judge Dwane E. Tilden approached O.P. and M.J. Van Sweringen seeking to build a golf course and clubhouse in the Village of Shaker Heights. Both of the Van Sweringen brothers became founding members and served on the original House Committee.
A championship 18-hole golf course designed by the legendary Donald Ross awaits. Golfing greats such as Walter Hagen, Arnold Palmer, Payne Stewart, Mark O'Meara, Fred Couples, and others have played our course. The facility also includes a driving range, putting green, and two chipping areas to hone your skills.
Shaker's Racquets Sports caters to all ages & abilities. Private or group lessons, clinics and special events are available throughout the seasons.
